Engine Performance and Trim Levels

The power an engine on a vehicle has is an important spec. If you are buying a truck for your on-the-go lifestyle, you need to know that you are getting an engine that can go over any ground and haul all the equipment you need it to. The Chevy Silverado 1500 has four engine options to choose from. These engines include:

  • A 4.3L V6 engine with 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque
  • A 2.7L four-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque
  • A 5.3L V8 engine with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque
  • A 3.0L diesel six-cylinder engine with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque

Hauling and towing anything is easy because the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 can withstand heavier loads. When properly equipped, this truck has a towing capacity of up to 9,600 pounds and has a payload capacity of 2,060 pounds in the truck bed.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes in eight trim levels that have different standard and available features. Which trim level you choose will be based on which one checks off the most boxes for you. These trims include:

  • Work Truck (WT)
  • Custom
  • Custom Trail Boss
  • LT
  • RST
  • LT Trail Boss
  • LTZ
  • High Country

Exterior Features

On the exterior, the high-strength steel gives a sturdy look to the truck but also keeps it safe from accidents and damage. You have different cab and bed configurations. You choose between a two-door cab or a four-door cab. There are three available bed sizes: Short at 69.92 inches, Standard at 79.44 inches, and Long at 98.18 inches. Long bed models provide up to 89.1 cubic feet of storage with 12 standard tie downs. The power open tailgate makes it easy to load and unload your cargo.

Interior Features

The interior on the Chevy Silverado 1500 is all about being sleek and comfortable. When it comes to interior space, the Chevy Silverado 1500 has plenty of legroom for the passengers in the rear seat at 33.5 inches and 40.1 inches of headroom. The Chevy Silverado also delivers 43 inches of headroom and 44.5 inches of legroom in the front seats in the regular cab version. The extra legroom in the Chevy Silverado 1500 also lends itself to more in-cabin cargo space if you have no passengers.

The seats on the Chevy Silverado 1500 change as the trim levels go up. Vinyl seat coverings are standard on the Chevy Silverado Work Truck but go up to leather on the LTZ trim. Ohio winters can get a little chilly, so stay warm with the heated front seats on the LT trim. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is also available on the Chevy Silverado 1500. Rubber floor coverings that bring comfort and easy cleanup.

Modern Technology Features

The technology features on this truck bring a lot of fun, but also in a safe way. Along with a 7-inch touchscreen on the console, a multi-color 15-inch Head-Up Display projects information such as navigation on the bottom of your windshield so you can keep your eyes on the road. You can listen to your own music and podcasts while driving around by connecting your cellular device to your truck and using wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. This music can be heard clearly with the six-speaker audio system. Other technology upgrades you can get include a wireless charging pad, Wi-Fi hotspot, and a navigation system.
