    * The 2015 Ford Transit is new from the ground up, starting with lightweight yet durable unibody construction and continuing with five wheelbases, three roof heights and four models including cargo van, passenger wagon, chassis cab and cutaway. You can also choose from 3 different engine to get the job done including a E85 flexfuel capable 3.7L Ti-VCT V6, the EcoBoost 3.5L V6 which combines direction injection and turbocharging, or the 3.2L Power Stroke inline 5-cylinder turbo diesel. No two Transits need to be alike either. Choose from storage cabinets and ladder racks to dividers, drawers and more. If your business is transporting people, there are Transit Wagon models with seating arragements for 8, 10, 12 or 15 passengers, as well as a variety of available aisle seating configurations. Ford Transit offers advanced technology to assist you in the everyday tasks of driving. Take, for example, the available Ford SYNC System. Access mobile communications, entertainment, directions and travel information using touch-sensitive buttons or simple voice commands. Crew Chief powered by Telogis helps track your fleet of Ford trucks and can assist you in everything from realtime vehicle maintenance alerts to routing. Going well beyond your typical vehicle redesign, the new Transit is a major transformation in the full-size van you've been accustomed to driving. It is engineered to ultra-stringent Ford commercial truck standards for durability and built to exceed what you've come to expect from the leader in full-size vans. Source: The Manufacturer Summary

    • A reasonably comfortable, nice performance vehicle

This transit with the 3.7 L engine drives great with plenty of power for driving the hills and mountains of east tennessee. It handles curves and street driving ok as well. I am averaging 16.6 mpg. The only performance problem I have encountered is some rather strong buffeting behind a semi at highway speed. When I backed off about 75 feet the buffeting was only slight. The front seats aren't the best with just fabric covering and rather poor small arm rests. But they are reasonable comfortable. The rear 13 seats, small, cramped, etc are fit for only short trips of 30 minutes or less. At 6ft 3in tall I am unable to stretch my legs out completely which makes driving long times a bit difficult. The overhead interior is starting to pull away from the walls of the vehicle leaving small 1/4-1/2 inch gaps. Finally, getting in the van is awkward, both for me and my 5ft 7in tall wife. If I go straight for the seat it's a bit high and I have to slide onto the seat. If I first step onto the interior step, I then am too high and may bump my head. She has to pull herself in using the handle on the passenger side.
    • Update to Transmission problems

This is an update to the review I wrote titled "Nice when new but problems quickly follow". The van has been in the shop for almost two weeks and including the tow bill, I'll be out by $3000 when I get it back. The Transmission problem ended up being a Lead Frame failure. The Lead Frame is the electrical brain of the transmission that controls the solenoids and valves in the transmission. The mechanics couldn't get the control arms off as they were seized so they had to cut them off and replace them. I bought this van new so that I could avoid costly trips to the mechanic and yet this vehicle has been the most expensive and unreliable one I have ever owned. I may have gotten a lemon, but that doesn't ease the pain of my bank account.

Who ever design the brake system on this needs to be fired. Who makes a rear brake system where the axle shafts have too come out just too replace a rotor??? As well as trying too get a caliper off is near impossible with them having a twist piston. Someone needs to go back too the drawing books will never be buying a ford van again until they make it more owner freindly work
